A community activity supported by The Rotary Clubs of Lake Macquarie for the benefit of John Hunter Children's Hospital, Loop the Lake is a leisure ride around beautiful Lake Macquarie of 16km, 50km or 85km finishing at Speers Point Park.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Warners Bay, Loop The Lake is assisted by Traffic Police, CREST Communications Volunteers and St. John Ambulance. Route Marshals are provided by the Lake Macquarie Rotary Clubs of Morisset, Toronto Sunrise, Toronto, Cardiff, Belmont, Bennetts Green and Warners Bay. We provide:
- A Ride Guide for Earlybird entries.
- A numbered Ride Bib.
- A Certificate of Achievement.
- Morning Tea at Morisset.
- Fruit Stop at Belmont South.
- Light lunch at the Finish.
- Free entry to the Swimming Pool after the ride.
- Rest stops for water.
- Volunteer Route Marshals.
- Bike mechanics on the route.
Cyclists should be aware that Loop The Lake is graded as a medium to hard event and is 'on road'. Rain or shine, we ride! It is expected that cyclists will abide by the road rules and ride with care and consideration of others. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. The cycle path from Eleebana to Speers Point Park can be used if you wish. Entrants with two-wheeled trailers will not be accepted due to safety concerns.
The Rotary Club of Warners Bay supports many community groups and charities, and facilitates Young Carer Camps.
Our Club meets every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 6.15 for 6:30pm at Brown Sugar Restaurant Function Room. Visitors and new members will receive a warm welcome. Please see the contact page for details or click HERE for the website.
